Luckbox & The Lost Weekend

Things have continued to go well through this month. Thanks largely to game selection I've kept my win rate quite high, and have thus been able to bring in $40-$70 per session playing just 3-7 hours (15-25 games) per day, very steadily. This is also due to running good this month; pokerluckmeter.com has my luck percentage at 82% for April. You can see the graph here. I'm very curious about what my red and blue lines (non-showdown vs showdown winnings) can tell me about my game; perhaps I'll include my analysis in my next post.

Unfortunately I've basically lost Saturday and Sunday to "that other job", as my manager scheduled me for Sunday (a no-no) as well as Saturday. I'll show her, however. I'll show her.

Though overall I've run pretty well this month, I thought the reader(s) might enjoy this sample hand. The pre-flop call, btw, was based on a solid read of my opponent as a maniac that I would be forced to gamble with, and I had no qualms at all about shipping it.

  1. Hey man...what's your username on Cake?

  2. I'm "s0rry?", with a zero and the question mark (since Jan 4th). What's yours? Are you a reg? Thanks for the visit!

  3. LOL I remember playing you! We played two $11 turbos like a few months ago, and in the second one agreed that we were probably wasting our time playing each other. Business is good, yes? I see you've moved up!

  4. Yeah...I guess you could call me a reg. I've been playing almost exclusively $25 husngs for a little while now. Traffic is down on Cake though since 4-15. Also since the advent of super turbos. Was gonna check you out on scope but cannot seem to make it work with I'm "s0rry?" I must be doing something wrong. :-(

  5. Yeah, I've noticed that Cake seems dead lately; I've hardly played there myself this month. Any particular connection to the 4-15 date? Also I've noticed that their scheduled tournament guarantees have all fallen... did they lose a partner site?
Any the name is just "s0rry?" without the quotes.

  6. Ok..I got your scope. Nice stats man! Yeah, they lost 2 skins on 4-15...Sportsbook.com and Players Only, and Lock Poker is bailing soon too. The traffic decline is really noticeable, so I'm playing $33s on stars when traffic is really bad on Cake. $25s on Cake when theres action.

  7. I used to multi-table sng on Cake, but don't play there anymore because of the traffic. They have good rakeback (33%) as opposed to 27% I recieve on FullTilt. Cake lost FUGU as well, but they replaced it with "Juicy Stakes". All the Cake skins are basically the same though.

  8. Thanks! As I've said I use Sharkscope for game selection, which really boosts the winrate. I have mixed feelings about doing so, but as I rely on poker for about 90% of living expenses at this point I don't really want to mess with the current program right now. Its too bad about Cake, esp b/c of rakeback. Do you usually play turbos? I played probably 75% regular speeds on Cake and closer to 90% on Stars, which is also a factor in keeping my winrate steady. I have been considering playing around with more turbos, however, because as long as the variance doesn't increase too much I'd love to double my volume...

  9. My insider information tells me that the loss of the sportsbook.com was the biggest hit to the network.
